From the late 1980s through the mid-1990s I had a big crush on the Russian/Belorussian gymnast, Svetlana Boginskaya (image from 1996 on right).
To satisfy my obsession, I watched her every televised performance, especially during the Olympic Games, memorized her routines, cheered her onward, and followed her life story. I made the drawings, tracings and transfers below in pencil, ballpoint pen, chalk pastel and fimo mosaic. Sigh!
