I spent about three hours hiking around Pole Green Park yesterday, and took lots of pictures. The park is huge, with trails through the woods and around the open fields. Lee-Davis High School uses the park to host cross-country events, and the trails are wide and well-marked. There are Km and Mile markers, indicating that I hiked about 5 miles. Along the creek was very mosquitoey, and I should have used Deet before my hike. I saw very little wildlife, but many plants, trees and flowers. The park has the largest beech tree I’ve ever seen. The trees with nuts were very full, and I saw bunches of acorns, hickory nuts and walnuts. I took lots of wildflower pictures. I’ll be back!
